All our products are made with premium natural fibers and crafted in India in small batches with emphasis on hand made and artisanal crafts celebrating India's rich heritage.
Our Story
DEODAR is an evergreen deciduous conifer native to the western Himalayas. In Hindi the word literally translates to Wood of the Gods. In Sanskrit one of the oldest languages in the world Deva-daru transcends as ' The Divine Tree '
In the mountains it's almost sacred , revered and believed to have descended straight from the heavens.
Hailing from India's cultural capital Rajasthan and married in the Garhwal region of the Himalayas , our founder and creative head Kamakshi is an avid nature lover hence the name Deodar. With a deep appreciation for the natural world, our founder , draws inspiration from her love of nature and travels around the world.
She brings together her background in retail, textiles, and visual merchandising into Deodar's product range.
Our Design Philosophy
Our design philosophy is rooted in nature and the simplicity of everyday life, the ordinary things. We feature earthy prints and timeless designs but with a modern touch and flair with sustainability at the core. Natural fibers, small batch production, and recyclable packaging exemplify our approach while we continue to work at this front more and more.
