Sofa Cushion Covers Online: Block Print & Handwoven Designs
Give sofas, beds and reading corners a more considered look with our block print and linen cushion covers. At Deodar, we bring together Cotton cushion covers, Slub cotton, Cotton velvet, European linen and Organic Kala cotton. Our designs include floral jaal and boota repeats, paisley motifs, woven stripes finished with scallops, ruffles and piped edges.
Our block print cushion covers are stamped by hand using carved wooden blocks. Our collection also includes woven linen designs and Bhujodi handloom pillow covers, which are made through weaving rather than printing. This gives you a genuine choice between the character of handmade print and the visible texture of handwoven fabric.
Selected sofa cushion covers are available in 40 x 40, 45 x 45 and 50 x 50 cm sizes, while rectangular options include 35 x 50 and 24 x 50 cm. Sizes, reverse construction and care instructions vary by design, so check the individual product page before ordering. How Block Print and Handwoven Cushion Covers Differ
The phrase printed cushion covers can describe several production methods, including screen, roller or digital printing. We identify our hand block print products separately: artisans apply each repeat with a carved wooden block, so slight changes in alignment, colour depth or small smudges may appear from piece to piece.
Our collection is not exclusively printed. Country Stripes Linen Cushion Cover uses woven stripes on 25 lea Belgian linen, while the Bhujodi Handwoven Organic Cotton Cushion is woven in Kala cotton by the Vankar community of Kutch, Gujarat. This is why the most accurate collection positioning is block print and handwoven cushion covers, rather than claiming every product is printed.
For a closer look at the printing process, read our Maker's Journal feature, Indian Heritage Textiles: The Story Behind Block Printing.

These are examples from our product pages, not universal specifications for every design. New launches may use different fabrics, dimensions or finishes, so our product pages should remain the final source of truth.
Choosing Floral, Rajasthani and Woven Designs
Our floral cushion covers use several visual languages, from dense jaal repeats to smaller boota motifs. Paisley designs are also described as Ambi or Kairi, while scalloped edges and ruffles add shape and details without introducing another print.
- Floral jaal: a continuous, closely repeated floral pattern that works as the visual lead on a sofa or bed.
- Boota or booti: a smaller repeated motif with more visible background fabric, useful when the room already includes pattern.
- Paisley or Ambi/Kairi: a curved teardrop motif used across Indian decorative traditions.
- Woven stripes and Bhujodi handloom: texture-led alternatives for shoppers who prefer handloom pillow covers over another printed surface.
Shoppers looking for a Rajasthani cushion cover will find block print designs connected with Rajasthan's craft vocabulary. The Bhujodi handloom line is a distinct regional craft from Kutch, Gujarat, and we do not describe it as Rajasthani or block printed.
How to Choose the Right Cushion Cover Size
Measure the cushion insert across its filled width and height, then compare those dimensions with the size selector on our product page. We use metric measurements, and selected designs are listed in 40 x 40, 45 x 45 and 50 x 50 cm squares, plus 35 x 50 and 24 x 50 cm rectangular formats.
There is no universal rule that every cushion cover should be exactly two inches smaller than its insert. The right pairing depends on insert loft, filling and the finish you prefer. Use the listed cover dimensions and the insert manufacturer's guidance rather than applying one fixed size gap to every product.
For styling, let one floral or block print cushion cover lead, then balance it with a woven linen cushion cover, a quieter stripe or a smaller-scale motif. Repeating one or two colours across different materials usually creates a more connected arrangement than matching every cushion exactly.
Care Instructions Vary by Material
We do not apply a single care statement to the whole collection. Follow the instructions on the individual product page:
- Cotton and slub-cotton block prints: selected products allow a hand wash or gentle cold machine cycle, with no bleach and shade drying.
- Cotton velvet: We recommend dry cleaning or a cold hand wash with mild detergent, and advise against machine washing, soaking, wringing and tumble drying.
- Woven Belgian linen: Hand wash or use a gentle cold cycle in the Machine, avoid bleach and tumble drying, and line dry in shade.
- Bhujodi Kala cotton handloom: dry clean only, with no machine washing, soaking or wringing.
Where one of our product pages notes natural dyes such as indigo or madder, wash separately or with similar colours during the initial washes. For additional brand guidance, read Caring for Your Block Printed Pieces, while keeping the product-specific care label as the final instruction.
Frequently Asked Questions
No. Our collection includes hand block printed cotton, cotton velvet designs, woven linen stripes, and a bhujodi handwoven Kala cotton option. Our product title and description identify the technique used.
Selected designs are listed in 40 x 40, 45 x 45 and 50 x 50 cm square sizes. Rectangular options include 35 x 50 and 24 x 50 cm on specific products. Availability varies by design.
Cotton and slub cotton are practical choices on products that allow gentle cold washing. Linen offers visible texture and comfort, while cotton velvet and Bhujodi handloom pieces require more specialised care. Check the care section before choosing.
Each repeat is applied by hand, so minor differences in alignment, saturation and small smudges can occur. We describe these as part of the handcrafted character of the product.
Yes. A floral block print, a woven linen stripe and one handloom cushion can work together when they share a restrained colour palette or repeat one common tone.
